1906 Melbourne and Princes Bridge from South BankAn amazing panorama of the Yarra taken in 1906, from the Snowden Gardens (now gone). We're looking north across the River Yarra, with Flinders Street running across the photo from left to right. Princes Bridge is to the right of the photo, and Flinders Street Station is undergoing its redevelopment, stretching from Princes Bridge out to the left of the photo. From the left on the south side of the street we see the Bull and Mouth Hotel

Not far from the photographer a fruit stand is visible on the footpath

This is a magnificent print that has had many hours of work being retouched

having used a number of "grounds" around Melbourne

The photograph was taken from the top of Scots' Church on the corner of Russell and Collins Streets
